I understand that I can purchase an external USB CD drive and then boot from that. The reason for using a flash device instead of a CD is: Booting this flashdrive has been working for years on hundreds of computers but I just have this one computer that I cannot figure out how to get it to boot on.
Maybe something as easy as not sending the Vaio's output to an attached monitor. Yes I tried quite a few times using Fn and F7 but it has never worked out.I tried hooking my Samsung to another desktop, wala it works fine.Just for the heck of it I unpluged the VGA cable while the TV was on PC input and pluged it in to my vaio Laptop, and for my surprise it worked. =) Hi, I have the same problem and I didn't manage to solve it !For example if I want to boot off of a USB flash drive to boot into a live Linux distribution in order to clean virus’s on netbooks that do not have CD drives to boot from I would push bios setup and choose flash drive to be the first option. When I restart the computer it will boot into the flash device.
